We believe that God revealed and initiated His unparalleled and unprecedented love for humanity and who He is in Jesus Christ, and because of Jesus, we can have a real, life changing relationship with God. The first word of our name is the Greek word "agapé," which conveys this meaning - the completely undeserved and sacrificial love of God. We began in 1984 at the University of Maryland College Park. Today, we have fellowship communities on twelve college campuses in Maryland, DC, Pennsylvania and North Carolina.

We are a college ministry of the Agapé churches located in Washington DC/Baltimore area, Pittsburgh, PA and Chapel Hill, NC, and Paris, France.

Regular Meetings
Large Group
We gather each week on our campus to sing songs to God, hear and receive teaching based on the Bible, pray together, and to just enjoy being together. All students are welcome to attend and experience God's love with us.

Small Groups
We meet in smaller settings each week to study the Bible together, pray for one another, and grow in Christian faith. This is where we can learn more about Christian life and can also build real and deeper friendships. Any student wanting to grow in Christian faith or to simply learn more about Jesus Christ is welcome to participate.

Prayer Meetings
If you would like to get more involved and have a heart for prayer or want to learn to pray, come and join us as we pray for our fellowships and campuses. Information on days/time for prayer meetings is provided at our Large Group meetings.

W2
W2 is our Sunday worship celebration geared for this generation. Students from our campus fellowships in the MD/DC region come to worship God together. This worship service is held at the Agapé Ministry Center and starts at 1:00 PM. We provide transportation to any student interested in attending.

Fall and Spring College Conferences
College students from all of our campus fellowships in Maryland, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina gather for a weekend each semester to worship God together through music, biblical teaching, and prayer. Dates for this upcoming year:

Fast-Forward
During the winter break, we meet together for 4 weeks to "fast-forward" in our Christian growth, to learn more about what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ in a relevant and real way on our campuses.

Summer Training
During the months of June and July, we have an 8-week leadership training program, designed to equip the students in our campus fellowships to learn how to study the bible, grow in spiritual disciplines, and learn what it means to love and serve others. This past summer, we also had special events throughout the summer which included a healing service led by the students, inner-city immersion in Washington D.C. and Baltimore, serving at Central Union Mission in D.C., and a prayer & worship weekend.

Green Theology
Green God...Green Faith...Green People - what has sprouted in the halls of religion and theology? This is a talk and a time on 'Exploring the possibility or reality of God being green, the de-greening and greening of Christianity, and green perspectives for faith-filled living.' Pastor Tim Rapp of Agapé Mission Church will be giving this lecture.

Date/location to be determined.

Career Night
Does my major in college determine the type of job I will get? Come and discuss this and many more questions with working professionals from the Agape churches. Career night is an opportunity to ask questions and hear a Biblical perspective on education, job searches, and careers from professionals in fields ranging from medicine to law to teaching to graphic design and more.

Date/location to be determined.

Compassion Ministry (Serving the Local Community)
Seeing and serving the local community is another way we can get involved in growing and changing. We have been given much and we want to give much to others. Whether it is with our time, talents or resources, we want to be the "hands and feet" that serve those in need. Students in the past have helped out in programs such as Capital Area Food Bank, IONA Senior Services, DC Public Schools, Salvation Army Southeast, Sarah's House, Little Lights Urban Ministries, Christopher Place Employment Academy, Central Union Mission, and also simply serving nearby inner city neighborhoods by making and giving out bagged lunches. We will be continuing to serve in our local communities on a regular basis.

Prayer & Worship Nights
To pray is to love; to love is to pray. Jesus prayed much and loved much. Likewise, students from all the campuses will meet to get caught up in worship and prayer with the heart of God for our campuses.

Saturdays, October 3, 2009 (University of Maryland College Park) & November 14, 2009 (George Washington University)
