Day Four: Battle for People – In God’s Compassion

Thursday, January 14th, 2016

This is how we are to approach ministry and battle for people-Jesus, who was in the midst of some great stress, sadness, and difficulty, when he saw the brokenness and lost-ness of the crowd, He had compassion on them and healed their sick.

This is how we battle for people.  It is in God’s compassion for them-in the midst of theirs and our struggles, issues, and at times even rejection.  This is very contrary to the way most of us are prone to do ministry-which is usually based upon either our own sense of righteousness, or because we really like or get along with someone. As each of us considers the manner we have been loved by God, when have we experienced rejection or the sense that we were an annoyance by the Lord?  In the same way, for us to battle for people calls for us to not battle the people, but approach the flock with God’s compassion and power.

Today, pray for those that are within your sphere of care, and pray for someone in your small group, ministry, and family. As you pray, receive God’s compassion, kindness, and tears for them.
