Day Two: Uncommon

Romans 12:1-2 (NIV)

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

“Step 1 to knowing God’s story is having a front row view of God’s mercy. God’s mercy reminds us that we have escaped death. When you escape death, you expect people to live differently. Jesus spared us from death! The most appropriate, reasonable thing you can do with your life is to live differently. Rather than using our lives for wrong purpose, we have been set apart for His purpose. God has taken common human beings to make us holy, uncommon for His glory. This world has a pattern that cycles. Do not conform to the pattern of this world. When we are connected to the Creator of all things, we are set free! Be renewed in your mind to understand what God’s will looks like. Let’s fight to think differently about life everyday.” Adapted from 2019 Fall College Conference.
