Day Two: The All-Nighter

Exodus 14:21-22 – Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left.

Ancient Israel was caught between Pharaoh’s army and the Red Sea. They were panicking. From their perspective, they were as good as dead. What solution of deliverance could be found? However, when Moses obeyed the LORD and stretched out his hand over the sea, the LORD sent power in the form of a strong east wind that separated the sea. Their situation crossed from death to life.

1. How long did it take for the power of God to turn the sea into dry ground?
2. What do you think it felt like to wait during that time?

When God rescues his people from death to life, sometimes it’s not in the timing we would desire. Sometimes there’s a need to wait. But rest assured that God’s resurrection power is at work.

Thank you Jesus for sending your Spirit of resurrection power in us. As we pray and seek you to act in our lives and in those around us, help us to trust and not doubt as we wait to see you move.
