Romans 6:6-10 (TNIV)
6 For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— 7 because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.
8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. 9 For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sin once for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.
Reflection:
We learned that we share in the death of Jesus and just as Jesus died, we have also died and have been set free from sin- death has no mastery over us. But Jesus has also resurrected and lives; and if we have died with Him, we are also raised and live with Him. The life Jesus lives, He lives to God. The resurrection of Jesus is an eternal resurrection. This is our reality now and today. Just as Jesus lives to God, we too live lives to God. This means that the normal pattern of life for Christians is one that is now lived toward God and for God now.
Responding to the Transmission:
Let’s pray that our churches, our campuses will live in the normal pattern of life for Christians- to live toward and for God alone today, now. Let’s pray that we will embrace the present and live the eternal resurrection each day, and experience more of His love and His empowering presence.
