Romans 5:5 NIV – And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.
The words ‘poured out’ means to fill, to spill over, to give generously and abundantly. For God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit generously, abundantly—to the point of spilling over.
The image that we are to have is like filling the cup of our hearts with the Niagara Falls of God’s love. Where our hearts are filled from the powerful and constant source of God’s love. As it says in Ephesians 3, God’s love is so great that we need his power in order to grasp its immensity.
Today, let’s open our mouths wide like a new hatchling and receive life from God’s supernatural love, as the Lord pours out into our hearts.
As you pray, listen to the song “When I hear the praises start” by Keith Green. As you listen and worship, imagine the Lord raining upon you with blessings that will fill your heart (Click here).
Prayer: Lord, you have poured out your love into our hearts. The love that fills, spills over, and is abundantly given. Lord rain your love and blessing upon us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
