Day Four: Supernatural love that changes the limits

Romans 5:5 NIVAnd hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Another image that we are supposed to be having with this passage is that the Holy Spirit pours his love into our hearts to the point where it moves the limits and boundaries of what we were previously able to do. In our lives, we have what we feel are the maximum and the minimum of what we are able to do as Christians. When we feel good, we are able to love at our maximum, and when we don’t feel as good, we go down to our minimum. The point being that we still live at a set range, with certain boundaries and spectrum of life.
This is what Abraham was doing in his life, that is until God poured his love into Abraham, and moving the boundaries of who Abraham was to be—the father of the faith, who had hope beyond hope.

Today, let’s ask the Lord to stretch our hearts and lives, so that we can love more and do more. Let’s ask the Lord to pour into us his visions and dreams, as you listen and worship to “Pour into me” and “In the last days” from this Sunday’s worship (Click here).

Prayer: Lord Jesus, stretch our hearts today. Move the boundaries of our lives, so we can love more and do more. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
