Acts 16:26 NIV – Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.
This is what salvation of God is. In his power, the Lord shakes the very foundation of what keeps people in bondage, in brokenness, in shame and fear, and under the power of sin and death. The doors that were once unopen-able are now flung open with great power and force. The chains that were once unbreakable, are now undone and comes loose.
This is the foundation shaking reality of salvation. Any and all chains of oppression—whether it is something that has occurred in our past, what we’ve done or have been done to us, the Lord violently shakes and breaks its hold.
Today, let’s pray and worship with the song “Did you feel the mountains tremble” by Jesus Culture (Click here). As we worship, let’s ask the Lord to shake the foundations of those who need God’s rescue in our ministries.
Prayer: Lord, your salvation shakes the very foundation of sin and death. We thank you for shaking the foundation of our lives, and now we pray for the shaking of the foundation of those we are ministering to. We pray that the prison doors will open, and the chains come loose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
