Psalm 91:1, 3-4 (NIV)
“Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High, will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”
Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
The goodness of God is known in our lives as we dwell (live in) in the shelter of the Lord God Most High. We need to be soaked and permeated with the gospel, at times for long periods of time as we live/dwell in the house of the Lord.
To belong to the Lord in His church is to know the goodness of God, as we are engaged in prayer, in worship. This is how we learn to deal with our life’s issues, where there is constant ministry surrounding us. When we get stuck as if we were trapped, or deal with deadly occurrences, this the heart of our God: he will save you, and cover you with his feathers and we will find refuge (safety under his wings). For the Lord protects us and we find refuge in the fatherly/motherly protective love of our God.
Prayer: Father, we thank you for your protective love and care over our lives as we dwell in your house. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
