Day Four: Come to Marah Daily

Exodus 15:23, 25a (NIV)
When they came to Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is called Marah.)
Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood. He threw it into the water, and the water became fit to drink. There the LORD issued a ruling and instruction for them and put them to the test.

A misconception about healing is that Marah is a place we only go to once. Perhaps we tell ourselves today, “I’ve been to Marah before.” And indeed, many of us have experienced God’s healing in a personal and miraculous way. But maybe that was a year ago or five years ago. What about today? Let’s see that God’s healing can be a process or perhaps there are new areas of our lives God wants to heal.

And that’s the great thing about Marah, it’s not meant to be a one time visit. Marah is a place Jesus invites us to each day, in order for us to experience his fresh and deeper healing again and again and again. In what ways then is the Lord inviting you into deeper healing today?

Prayer: “Lord, I answer your invitation once again to meet with you. You are the healer of my life and I need your fresh and deeper healing today. In Jesus’ name, amen.”
