Let’s read aloud together the following passage, creed and prayer:
1 Corinthians 15:2-6 (NLT)
It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message:
Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.
He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.
He was seen by Peter and then by the Twelve.
After that, he was seen by more than 500 of his followers at one time.
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead and buried.
On the third day He rose again. He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic (universal) church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Lord Jesus, thank you for the good news of the gospel. Thank you that you yourself have come to make it known to me. Today, may my heart burn with the truth of your life, death, and resurrection for my life and for my world. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
