2 Peter 1:3-4 (NRSV) – His divine power has given us everything needed for life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Thus he has given us, through these things, his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and may become participants of the divine nature.
To be alive in Christ means that we are to daily live in His divine power in order to live godly lives. This divine power is the gospel, which is the power of God for salvation for all who believe (Romans 1:16). Therefore, let’s be assured at this very moment that we have been given EVERYTHING (nothing missing or lacking) that we need for life and godliness. We can and are to live lives that are full of joy, fruitful, and empowered to say yes to the Lord.
This morning and for the rest of week, memorize the above passage, and recite and claim it each moment you begin to sense discouragement, doubts, or anything that tries to derail your walk in Christ.
Also, spend today in worship as you pray through the song, “Consuming Fire” by Tim Hughes.
