Day Three: I Am Willing

Luke 5:12-14 (NIV)
12 While Jesus was in one of the towns, a man came along who was covered with leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell with his face to the ground and begged him, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.” 13 Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him. 14 Then Jesus ordered him, “Don’t tell anyone, but go, show yourself to the priest and offer the sacrifices that Moses commanded for your cleansing, as a testimony to them.”

“God wants to heal you. He doesn’t enjoy watching you suffer. He loves you and wants you to be well, to be whole, to be cleansed, and be free. Try to take in all the ways this person is being healed. He’s probably been ostracized his whole life…When Jesus tells him to go to the priest, that’s because it’s the priest who verifies that you’re clean and gives you the public approval to be fully restored to the community. So, Jesus restores this man in every way—physically, emotionally, socially.” (P. Jason Park)

Jesus is willing and ready to touch the areas that seem untouchable. Let’s ask for Jesus’ loving touch today.

Prayer: Father, thank you that you want to heal me. I don’t want to suffer on my own. Touch me and restore me in every way! In Jesus’ name, amen.
