Day Four: Thankful

Colossians 3:15-17 NIV
15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. 16 Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. 17 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

“Christ’s peace brings thanksgiving. Believers should be as thankful as refugees who have escaped the grim bondage of a repressive culture and have found refuge in a land of freedom and opportunity. The peace of Christ rules where the word of Christ dwells.“ (David Garland, Colossians, Philemon, NIVAC).

Colossians 3:15-17 is a beautiful picture of church, made possible by what Christ has done for us. Throughout our five churches, in the campus meetings, Bible studies, Missional groups, manuscript studies, what a privilege it is that we can gather and seek the Lord, encourage one another, and sing songs with gratitude in our hearts.

Prayer:  Father, thank you for saving us. We pray that the message about Christ would dwell among us richly. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Let’s worship to the song “Thank you Jesus for the blood” by Charity Gayle (click here).
